Rapla Airfield
Rapla Airfield (ICAO: EERA) is a grass-covered airfield in Rapla County, a few kilometers from Rapla towards Märjamaa, in the area of the village of Iira. It is also historically known as Kuusiku Airport.
Rapla Airport is the largest recreational aviation sports center in Estonia, where several different flying clubs operate. Parachuting, gliding, motor flying, paragliding, hang gliding and model aircraft flying take place here. The airport can also be used as a take-off or landing site for hot air balloons. The main recreational aviation activity usually takes place on weekends.
Guest aircraft and helicopters are always welcome!
There are two marked runways here, measuring 1600 x 60 m (direction 15-33) and 1100 x 30 m (direction 15-33). The entire area of the airport is 177 hectares.

Runways, aprons and taxiways
The airport runways, apron and taxiways are grass covered, with a load capacity of 7 tons.
The airport has two runways: 15R/33L (1600x60m) and 33R/15L (1100x30m). Detailed information is in the VFR information guide.

Navigation warning areas
Separate navigation warning areas will also be activated around the airport during parachuting and gliding activities. Detailed information and activation contacts can be found in the eAIP guide:
- Parachuting area KUUSIKU. Circle with a radius of 6 NM (11.1 km), center 585911N 0244328E. Altitude range GND to FL130. Information about the activity can be obtained from Tallinn ACC.
- Gliding danger area EED35G with coordinates 585307N 0251852E – 584345N 0243658E – 585744N 0243213E – then along a circle (clockwise) with a radius of 6 NM (11.1 km) from the center point 585911N 0244328E to 590350N 0245048E – 585307N 0251852E. Altitude range GND to FL60.
Especially on weekends, we ask you to check before flying whether the areas are activated.
While approaching it is possible to receive information about the activation of the areas by radio from air traffic control frequencies such as Tallinn Radar, 127.905 MHz.
